The Therapist
Paul grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated from Oklahoma
University with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy in 1983,
with emphasis on spinal dysfunction. Through the process of
continuing education, he has studied practically every school
of thought when it comes to treatment of the neck and back.
MacKenzie, Grimsby, Porterfield, Maitland, and Sahrmann are
not familiar names to the general public, but they are great
foundations for the care of patients with pain in the spine.
Paul has had the privilege to live in Arizona, Michigan and
Montana before returning to Lawrence. Living in the desert,
Great Lakes, and the Rocky Mountains provided him with the
opportunity to adapt his treatments to the varied weather conditions
and demographics. Each treatment process is individually designed
to reach the most efficient and effective results.
Upon returning to Lawrence, Paul worked for a clinic in Topeka,
which provided the opportunity to learn and work with the MedX
equipment. Skeptical at first, Paul quickly developed a practical
system for care of the back and neck, based on his previous
continuing education and clinical experience.
In early 2003, Paul found himself in the favorable position
to open Marks Physical Therapy.
